The first part of the day:
Today we drove to mum’s old neighbour, we knocked on their door but no one answered so we (Mum, Abi, and I) walked down to the ‘Inky Pinky Park’. It was a small park but it was very fun.
Mum told us that this was where she used to go sledding down the steep hill that was next to the playground. She also said that you had to be careful that you didn’t slide to the left, because if you did you would go in the freezing cold river.
After that we went back to the car, dad had a bit of trouble unlocking the car, so we had to wait about a minute standing in the mist.
After that mum led us (we were in the car now) to her old primary school. She said: “there wasn’t this building” and “that wasn’t here when I was at school”. We had a tour (led by mum) around the outside of the school and saw the outside space where mum had played a lot of rounders.
After that we drove around the town that mum lived in. We saw the sledding hill that mum sledded down. We also saw the wall that she split her head open on.
After that we drove to mum’s old high school. Dad and Abi didn’t want to hop out, but I did. (I think they didn’t want to hop out because mum said that it was very windy up here because it was the highest point in the surrounding area, and it was raining) So mum showed me the dining hall, and the castle that was in the school, she also showed me the running track that was in the school (it had their football field inside it), and she said that if you were higher than the third year, you could go outside the school grounds!
IT WAS A VERY INTERESTING TRIP!!!
The second part of the day:
Now we went to the Transport Museum, mum said that there were big models of big ships! We looked at a really bright and colourful van, we saw the inside of two steam trains. But then Abi went missing (like she always does) mum went to look for her and dad and I stayed at the steam trains, I found Abi (like she always does), and she said that it was mums fault (like she always does) because she didn’t tell Abi that she was leaving.
After that we went to the ship models, mum complained to us that the display was terrible because you couldn’t see the top ships. (I agreed)
My favourite ship model was the battle ship that had guns that took up a quarter of the whole ship. We saw (what they claim) the oldest bike in the world. I called the ‘Wooden Bike’ (in my head). I called it this because it was made of wood, even the wheels were made of wood!
We saw a three wheeled car, and some side cars, they were very spacious and I could probably sleep in one. I'm kidding. It was very cramped and it had a roof, so I said to dad: “imagine riding in one of these on a bumpy road! BONK!, BONK!, BONK! Goes your head!)
IT WAS ALSO A VERY INTERESTING TRIP!!!
