Leave New Zealand?

“No, I don't want to leave New Zealand!” I said. “Sorry Alex you can either stay in New Zealand and go to a boarding school for boys while we go around the world or you can come with us and see all the amazing places around most of the world.” My Mum said.

…1 solid week of arguing later…

“Fine, I'll go” I said. “That's more like it son” My Dad said.

How I felt when my sister and I were told that we were going to be going around the world for 2 years: I felt sad that we would be going away from New Zealand but happy because we would get to see all the new places around the world and that we could taste all the new food. But then I thought about leaving my friends, and about what my Mum and Dad said about probably choosing to live in a different country. That made me want to stay in New Zealand so I didn’t have to leave behind everything, and what about our super cute dog Willow?

What I want to see when we are travelling around the world for 2 years: I would like to go to the top of The Statue Of Liberty and I would like to see a komodo dragon.I would also like to see my friend called Keeri, he lives in Thailand.I also want to see the king’s crown, it is at the top of a tower called the tower of london. I would like to see a living anaconda.

What food I would like to try when we are travelling around the world for 2 years: I would like to try a steamed bun (the type that are made in Korea). I would also like to try a knickerbocker glory; the knickerbocker glory is a giant ice cream with a very long spoon to get to the bottom of the cup. I would also like to try a real pizza (I said real because the pizzas in New Zealand are very small and they don’t have the original flavours, like margherita pizzas).

What I would like to do when we are travelling around the world for 2 years: I would like to climb up to base camp 1 on Mount Everest. I would like to go for a ride on TheLondon Eye (it is a giant ferris wheel). I would like to see the king if we could do that (if we can’t see the king I would like to go into the royal palace.

What I am looking forward to doing when we are travelling around the world: I am looking forward to seeing my friend Keeri again. I am looking forward to going to my Mum’s cousin’s wedding. I am looking forward to spending Christmas somewhere where it snows. I am also looking forward to looking at all the temples in all the different countries.
