A BOAT TOUR IN KAS

9/May/2024

Yesterday we had booked a boat tour! Mum got us 3 loungers in the shade and one lounger in the sun. I picked the lounger in the sun because I was cold and it was windy. The boat tour would take around eight hours! And in that eight hours we would sail to five different swimming spots. The first stop of the day was an underwater town (by underwater I mean sunken), I (and everybody else in the Mulgrew family, didn’t want to go in the water because we all felt it to early into the boat trip, so if we got wet, we would stay wet) didn’t want to go swimming in the ocean at that point in time, but we were all mesmerised at the sparkling see-through turquoise ocean. Our next stop had a current and was quite a bit colder than the last place, but even if I had wanted to go swimming (which I didn’t), mum wouldn’t allow me.

Our third stop was for lunch (and another swimming stop). This stop was near a village that you could only get to by boat. I had fish (like dad and Abi), the fish came with some delicious rice and some even-better beans! (It also came with salad and this white sauce with cucumber-looking slices in it. When we were tied to the dock, we (and everybody else on the boat) walked up a hill to a castle. Dad had left the cash on the boat, so we couldn’t get into the castle. We did find a cool cemetery if you followed a narrow path to a bunch of tall tombs. It had a nice 280° view around the small island. I vowed to swim in the next swimming spot, and I was very happy when the next swimming spot was a beach! My whole family got in, but Abi wanted a noodle so that she wouldn’t have to swim as much. (I understand because the swim to the beach looked to be around 100 metres)! I got a big fright when I thought I saw a big black shark swimming beneath me. I don’t know if it was a shark or not because I swam as hard as I could for the last 25 metres to the beach. The beach was nice, it had a ruined church on it, so before I swam out to the beach, I got the water-proof camera so I could take photos of everything except the-big-black-shark-like-thing-that-

-was-hunting-me-in-my-mind-probably.

The next stop was an even better one! It had a super cool cove beach! I really wanted to swim to it, but dad and Abi didn’t want to swim again. Mum didn’t really want to swim when she felt the temperature of the water, but she also wanted to go find out what was inside of that cove. We (mum an I) swam to the cove riding the waves. We found out that there wasn’t much except limpets. It was a lot harder swimming back to the boat because of the waves, but I made it nothless. That was our last stop for the day, so we then sailed back to the port. Before we arrived at shore, I was told (by mum, dad, and Abi) that I had some bright red sunburn on my face, legs, and arms! Oh, NO!

THE BOAT TOUR WAS VERY FUN AND EXCITING!!!
